Every cabinet design starts with an empty space.  From that space, the designer creates a concept and makes it come to life.  They take into account every well, corner, nook and cranny in a room and make it a beautiful, functional design.  Here at Artistic, our design team creates detailed sketches of the space long before any cabinet is put together.  These sketches show exactly what is going to fill that space, and show clients exactly what they are in store for.

That empty space is what we have in our showroom, but not for long.  Soon, they will turn into new displays.  These two pictures are examples of the rendering our designers do.  Both are corner pieces to go into our showroom here in Raleigh.

This piece on the right is done in Ultracraft's Destiny series, in rustic cherry.  The one on the left is a more contemporary design also done in the Destiny series.  It features Acrilux cabinetry that adds a sleek look to any room.

Check out these designs and then keep up with the blog to see the real deal in about a week.  As always, feel free to stop by and see them in person the next time you're in downtown Raleigh.

I'm all for innovative design.  But, House K by the Japanese architect group TANK is just a little too much.  The over-abundance of concrete gives this design more of a warehouse feel than anything.  Though practicality was sought in this instance, going in a direction of white walls or metal over concrete, or simply covering the exposed ceiling and electrical would have given this house a more "livable" feel.

To their credit, the architects explicitly state the bare-bones nature of this design was at the request of the clients.  But, I'm still not sold.

Read more about it here to decide for yourself.

I'm going to use the blog time today to talk a little bit about one of our product lines, Ultracraft.  Ultracraft produces some of the finest cabinetry made in North Carolina, and does so with a great attention to style, detail, and price-point.  We love to use local products, and both Ultracraft's Vision and Destiny lines are manufactured less than two hours from Raleigh.

It's an exciting day here at our showroom as we are in the process of getting three brand new Ultracraft displays.  So, feel free to check out more about Ultracraft, keep checking our blog for pictures of the new displays, and come by our showroom to see them in person!

Ultracraft is a truly customizable product with great styles, and we are proud to offer their cabinetry in the Raleigh area.

In the first decade of the 21st century, the "going green" trend has exploded on the scene.  Invading every facet of society, green living has effected everything from pop culture to transportation, even the way we build our houses.  At the forefront of this operation is the U.S. Green Building Council with promotes LEED (Leadership in

Energy and Environmental Design) certification.  LEED sets a standard for green building certification, and is taking steps in revolutionizing sustainable development standards.  Follow their blog, and explore their website to learn more about green building.
